Abstract
Purpose: This study was designed to assess the degree of Yangsaeng (oriental health care regimen) and happiness of nurses who work in small and medium-sized of hospitals and to identify correlations of between variables in Korea. Methods: Participants were 131 nurses in hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggido. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe’s test, multiple regression and Cronbach’s α. Results: Mean scores were 2.99 (5 point scale) for Yangsaeng and 4.64 (7 point scale) for happiness. Yangseang positively correlated with happiness (r=.463, p<.001). Job satisfaction was a significantly correlated with Yangsaeng and happiness. Yangsaeng, job satisfaction and age explained 28.0% of happiness. Conclusion: We found Yangsaeng could improve happiness. Therefore, Yangsaeng could be recommended as a way of promoting health and happiness.

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of auricular acupressure therapy on back pain and lower abdominal pain in female undergraduate students during menstruation. Methods: The study used a quasi-experimental design. Data was collected from March 15th to June 31st, 2011. The participants were 20 female university students for the experimental group, and 22 female university students for the control group. visual analogue scale (VAS) with the opening records was used to assess back pain and lower abdominal pain. Data was analyzed using the χ²-test, Fisher’s exact test, Mann-Whitney U test, and Wilcoxon signed rank test using the SPSS/WIN 11.0 program. Results: There were statistically significant differences in back pain and lower abdominal pain between the two groups. Auricular acupressure therapy decreased back pain and lower abdominal pain in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: The study results show that auricular acupressure therapy is effective in improving back pain and lower abdominal pain in female university students during menstruation. Therefore, auricular acupressure therapy can be considered a useful nursing intervention to promote improvements in back pain and lower abdominal pain related to menstruation.

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of thermotherapy on abdominal distension and pain during colonoscopy. Methods: This study used a nonequivalent control group and a non-synchronize design. Twenty-nine participants were assigned in an experimental group and 29 in the control group. For the experimental group, electronic heating pad was applied before test throughout the entire procedure. Results: Abdominal distension and total time required for colonoscopy significantly were lower in the experimental group than those in the control group. Conclusion: The results suggest that thermotherapy can be effective to improve abdominal distension and colonoscopy time in patients with colonoscopy. Therefore, thermotherapy can be recommended for those patients undergoing of colonoscopy.
